This page is for activities that interest me. These include speedcubing, web design, and juggling.

Speedcubing:

I got interested in the Rubik’s cube after seeing the popular movie The Pursuit of Happiness. In this movie there is a scene in which the actor who plays Chris Gardner solves the Rubik’s cube in 40 seconds! I got amazed that day and was the hunt on finding my old Rubik’s cube and solving it. Well I did not find it but my parents bought me one after bugging them alot. So I scrambled it and was baffled within a week’s time. I pulled out the beginner solution booklet and was on my way to unscrambling it. After some weeks I accomplished this task!!! After that I took it to school to amaze my friends. Something inside me wanted to solve it faster and faster. I also got the name of a “geek” at school , so I developed the website, cubegeek.net,  to explain the wonders of the magic cube. Back then , I solved it in 14 minutes , then 2-3 minutes and now I have acquired my time being it my personal best which stands as 15 seconds!!! After sometime, I noticed that there was not much speedcubing activity in the Houston Area, but also in the entire state of Texas. I then started the Houston Cubing Association to promote speedcubing in the Houston Area. Later, I organized the first ever speedcubing competition in Houston,Texas. The competition attracted speedcubers from all over Texas. The competition sparked interest of speedcubing in Texas. More competitions were held. Houston Cubing Association: This website is a list of the activities that the Houston Cubing Association has accomplished.

I have traveled to Austin and Dallas to compete in  competitions. At the Austin Open 2008, I won two awards: 1st place for blindfold solving and 3rd place for 5×5 speed solve. At the Austin Open 2009, I won in the same events, but I got 3rd place in both of the events. I did not win anything in Dallas. I find that quite ironic.
